Tracking information

For each learning activity in the Activity Tree Menu, SilkRoad Learning tracks specific sequencing information about the activity and stores this data as the user interacts with content and navigates the Activity Tree.

Each Activity Tree Item may have one or more objectives associated to it. By default, each Activity has a "Local" Objective assigned as the "Primary Objective" that tracks the completion and progress status for the activity. One or more "Primary Objectives" may also be explicitly assigned to an activity, instead of the default objective. If one or more primary objectives are explicitly assigned, SilkRoad Learning associates tracking information to these objectives.

There are four pieces of information stored for each activity:

  • Activity Progress Information: Describes the user’s progress on the activity in terms of whether they have completed the activity or not.
  • Attempt Progress Information: Describes the user’s attempts on the activity in terms of how many times they have selected or navigated to the item.
  • Objective Progress Information: Describes the user’s progress on the activity in terms of the associated objective. This information may be in the form of a score value for the objective.
  • Progress Status Information: Describes the user’s status on the activity in terms of Known, Unknown; Attempted, Not Attempted; Complete, Incomplete; or Passed, Failed.
