Initiate a background check request

  • Permissions to initiate background check requests are available to users at the discretion of your SilkRoad Recruiting customer administrator.
  • You can initiate background check requests on candidate's one at a time. No bulk action is available.
  1. Access a candidate's candidate profile.
  2. From the Select an Action list, click Initiate Background Check.

    The Background Check Request form page opens.

    For integrations that use eForms, data that has been collected via a previously returned eForm will pre-populate the Background Check Request form. If multiple eForms are available, the recruiter initiating the request is presented with a drop-down of the eForms on file. The selected eForm will populate the Background Check Request form.

  3. Select reports or report packages to be provided for the candidate.

    Selection choices are based on the reports and/or packages the recruiter has permissions to request.

  4. Click Submit to post the data to the background check vendor.

    If the submission is successful, you get an immediate confirmation that the vendor received the request.

    Error messages indicate whether error is with SilkRoad Recruiting or background check service provider.
