A relationship can also be many-to-one between a parent role and the child role of User. For example, a Feedback Provider relationship between multiple Feedback Providers for an appraisal and the employee being reviewed could be:

A multi-level hierarchy can be created using the same parent role. In the following example, Employee A is the Direct Manager of employee B who, in turn, is the Direct Manager for Employee C.

These relationships are used in many places within Rival WingSpan including:

  • Role permissions
  • Reviewers in Appraisals
  • Plan Approver in Goals
  • Required Manager Reviewer in Assessments
  • Employees in My Team Members
  • Report pages
  • Custom reports

A user may have several relationships depending on their role(s) within the company. Relationships are created after creating Role assignments.

Note The use of Rival WingSpan administration tools are recommended for uploading and managing employee profiles and relationships in bulk.
