Key properties

Key properties are attributes associated with employees that further identify them. Key properties help when searching for employees and are essential for setting up data segmentation. Examples of key properties are employee location, job, and department.

Good to know

  • Your implementation consultant sets up key properties during implementation. As a client administrator, you don't really have to deal with them—unless you need additional ones set up. Support can help you in that case.
  • Key properties are part of the employee record (Employee Profile). You can view them on the Employee Profile (expand the Key Properties panel).
  • Key properties are not the same as event categories and assignment categories. Event categories are tied to events, and assignment categories are tied to tasks.
