Hot match and job score

View video

Hot match is a system comparison between resume profiles and active job postings. The top 50 matches in the database—without a minimum threshold—are shown. Any candidate in the top 50 list in bold font is already associated to the job. Any candidate in the top 50 list not in bold is not tied to this job.

Job score results tell you how well the candidate’s resume matches a job description. Job score is available on a candidate profile and elsewhere in the system in result grids. Sort columns to see Job Score % in descending order (results will show the highest percent at the top of the list in descending order).

They are similar in that both search and compare resume content to the job details. The difference is how you access the results.

Algorithm

An algorithm controls how hot matches and job score work. The algorithm:

  • Searches the job title, job description, skills and experience against all candidates
  • Uses the top 100 most used words
  • Excludes common words: the, and, but, when, it, do, etc.
  • Indicates how strong a match the candidate is (30 – 40s = strong match)
  • Searches the entire database, even the Do Not Consider For Future candidates
  • Bolds candidates already tied to job

Good to know

  • Resumes do not get scored immediately upon creation
  • System checks every 30 minutes for new resumes and changes made to existing resumes
  • System checks every 30 minutes for new jobs and changes made to existing jobs
  • System scores or rescores every 30 minutes
