Rival WingSpan and Rival Learn integration

If your company is using Rival Learn management system (LMS) along with Rival WingSpan, training activities and eCourses from Rival Learn’s course catalog are automatically updated in Rival WingSpan’s Activity Library. An employee is automatically registered in a Rival Learn course when the course is added to the employee’s Development Plan. Course results from Rival Learn are automatically updated in the Development Plan.

Prerequisites

To use the Rival WingSpan and Rival Learn integration, you must subscribe to Rival Learn and be configured to use Integration Platform. Contact your Rival sales associate to learn more about Rival Learn and Integration Platform and how to subscribe.

Activity Management Tool

Rival Learn eCourses and training activities are automatically updated in Rival WingSpan Activity Library on an ongoing basis. You can find the recently updated Rival Learn courses in the Activity Management Tool by setting the Source to GL and setting the Last Updated date to the date the course was updated in Rival Learn.

The content of Rival Learn courses is maintained in Rival Learn and cannot be edited in Rival WingSpan. Course descriptions, participation, and completion information is also maintained in Rival Learn not Rival WingSpan. However, you can edit keywords for Rival Learn courses in Rival WingSpan on the Edit Activity page.

Merge Activity Types

The Manage Activity Types page contains two special types for use with Rival Learn eCourses and training activities.

Development Plan

Rival Learn eCourse and training activities can be added to a Development Plan directly in the plan by the employee or as part of an appraisal process by a reviewer.

When a Rival Learn course is added to a Development Plan, the activity is initially given a status of Assigned.

An automated process runs once a day that registers the employee for the course in Rival Learn and updates the activity status in Rival WingSpan to Active. Active Rival Learn courses have a Launch Course action, which allows the employee to launch a Rival Learn window.

Rival Learn courses in the Development Plan have a View/Journal action that allows the employee to view activity details and write a journal entry. Employees cannot edit Participation information.

When a course is completed in Rival Learn, the associated activity in Rival WingSpan is automatically updated as completed. On the View Activity page, the employee can view the course’s Status, Score, and End Date. End Date corresponds to Mastery Date in Rival Learn.
