Managing Enrollments

You can manage training event enrollment using the enrollment list and waiting lists for each training event. Events that require enrollment approval can be set by selecting the Enrollment Approval Required check box that appears above the enrollment list. Selecting this check box automatically adds ALL students seeking enrollment to the waiting list for the event. Enrollments and waitlists can be managed automatically based on the enrollment settings for the event for self-enrollments, or by using the management control buttons below each list.

  1. From the Minimum Enrollments text box, type the minimum number of students allowed in the enrollment list. Minimum Enrollments refers to the number of students to determine whether an event has sufficient students to run or whether it should be cancelled.
  2. From the Maximum Enrollments text box, type the maximum number of students allowed in the enrollment list. Maximum Enrollments refers to the number of students allowed to enroll in an event. Students self-enrolling after the maximum enrollment setting has been reached are automatically added to the waiting list for the event.
  3. From the Enrollment Cut-off text box, type the number of days when students are no longer allowed in the enrollment list. Enrollment Cut-off refers to the days before the event to stop automatic enrollment on this day. Students self-enrolling on or after this date are automatically added to the waiting list for the event.
  4. Select the Allow Training Event Enrollment without Prerequisite Mastery check box to allow students to enroll without having mastered all prerequisites.
  5. Select the Student May Cancel Training Event Enrollment check box to allow students to cancel enrollment.
  6. From the Cancellation Cut-off text box, type the number of days when students are no longer allowed to cancel. Cancellation Cut-off refers to the days before the event when students can no longer cancel to help administrators determine whether a cancellation penalty will be imposed.
  7. From the Cancellation Penalty text box, type the percentage of the penalty for cancellation. Cancellation Penalty refers to the percentage of the cancellation penalty if any.
  8. From the Absentee Penalty text box, type the percentage of the penalty for being absent. Absentee Penalty refers to the percentage of the absentee penalty if any.
  9. Select the Enrollment Approval Required check box, to force all enrollments to the waitlist until approved by an administrator. Enrollment Approval Required refers to the required approval for student enrollments.
  10. From Enrollment List, click Add. The Students page opens. Enrollment List refers to students that are added to the Enrollments List if self-registration is available (up to the maximum number for the training event).
  11. Click Search or filter the search by typing additional information into the filter boxes.
  12. Select the check box(s) next to the student(s) or click Select All, then click Confirm.
  13. To remove students from the Enrollment List, select individual check box(s) or click Select All or Mark All, then click Cancel Selected.
  14. Select the Automatic Enrollment From Waitlist check box to have approved students from the Waiting List move to the Enrollment List. When an enrollment space becomes available, SilkRoad Learning automatically assigns the space to the earliest student in the waitlist up to the maximum enrollment allowed in the enrollment list.
  15. From Waiting List, click Add. The Students page opens. Waiting List refers to students that are added to the Waiting List if self-registration is available and the maximum number for the training event has been exceeded or when a Training Event requires approval to enroll.
  16. From the Students page, click Search or filter the search by typing additional information into the filter boxes.
  17. Select the check box(s) next to the student(s) or click Select All, then click Confirm.
  18. To move students from the Waiting List to the Enrollment List, select individual check box(s) or click Select All or Mark All, then click Approve.
  19. To remove students from the Waiting List, select individual check box(s) or click Select All or Mark All, then click Cancel Selected.
  20. Click Add.
