Purged I-9s

Use this report to determine I-9s purged in the last 30 days, upcoming purges (next 30 days), and total I-9 purges.

Key info

  • DHS states that I-9 Forms must be retained for three years after employee hire date or one year after termination date, whichever date is later.
  • The Employee Profile fields of Hire Date and Termination Date are required for the purging calculation. If either field are left blank, the I-9s will not be purged from the customer site. A user must be in the retired state (IsRetired=0) for their I-9 to be purged.
  • Purging dates are a configurable option. Contact your system administrator to discuss changing the purge time frame dates.

Good to know

The following updates are made when an I-9 Form is purged:

  • The employee's I-9 Form(s) and any forms uploaded via the I-9 tab on the Employee Profile are deleted.
  • A note is added to the Employee's Profile indicating the I-9 related forms that were deleted.
  • E-Verify data is deleted from the E-Verify server.
  • A historical note is added to the Purge report noting which employee the forms existed for, employee hire date, purge date, employee termination date, and form expiration date at the time it was purged.
