Authoring, Staging, and Library
Typically, an instructional designer develops course content, has subject matter experts review and provide feedback on the content, and then, once approved, publishes the new course. SilkRoad Learning has replicated this workflow so that instructional designers can organize content objects based upon the workflow. The status of the content object determines where the object is located.
Content objects with a status of Authoring are located under the Authoring sub menu. An instructional designer can edit objects in this area.
Content objects with a status of Staging are located under the Staging sub menu. With the proper security settings, subject matter experts can review content with this status.
Content objects with a status of Library are located under the Library sub menu. This area is for all approved content objects. To revise the content object, it must be returned to Authoring status.
Note: Changing status of a content object is not required – a content object can remain in Authoring and still be published.
Note: Content objects can only be edited in Authoring status.
Steps for changing the status of a content object
The Content Objects page opens.
The Content Object Properties page opens.
The content object status is now changed.
