Create a required training available notification

  • A required training available notification lets a student know when training is pushed to their My Training page. It can also let a supervisor know that an employee has required training available. The notification is triggered by the activation date of a course within an intervention, competency, or requirement.
  1. From the navigation bar, click Enterprise>Community>Notifications.

    The Notifications page opens.

  2. Click Add.
  3. On the Notifications Properties page, from the Event drop-down box, select Required Training Available.
  4. In the Name text box, type the name for the event.
  5. Select the Enabled check box.
  6. Under Notification Period, set when the notification is to be sent.
  7. Click To and select who receives notification.
    1. On the Message Recipient window, select one of the following:
      • System Recipient (student or supervisor of student whose required training activation date was added or changed), then select a system recipient form the drop-down box.
      • User Defined Recipient (custom users), then type the display name in the Display Name text box and type the email address that is associated with the display name in the Email text box.
    2. Click Set Recipient to add the System Recipient or Defined Recipient to the Message Recipient Entries list and click Save.
  8. Click From.
    1. On the Message Sender window, in the Display Name text box, type the name of the person the message is being sent from.
    2. In the Email text box, type the email address that is associated with the Display Name.
    3. Click Set Sender to add the Display Name and Email to the Message Sender Entries list. Click Save.
  9. Under Message Options, select language and format. Click Create/Edit Message to create the notification message.

    The Notification Message Properties window opens.

    1. In the Subject text box, type the subject of the message.
    2. In the Message text box, type the notification message.
    3. From the Objects drop-down boxes, select the appropriate object from the first drop-down then select the appropriate database field from the second drop-down.
    4. Click Insert.
    5. Click Save.
  10. Under Restrictions, do one of the following:
    • Leave Applies to All checked. This training available notification applies to all courses.
    • Click (uncheck) Applies to All to make this notification course-specific. Select the course(s).
  11. Click Add to add the notification.
